Plant Lists
Full plant catalogue information 2026
As we are a working nursery, our stock varies from season to season. Our plant list is, therefore, changing all the time and should only be used as a guide. If there are any plants not on the list which you are interested in, please contact us and we can get back to you about availability.
Plants we specialise in
-
Tree Ferns
We stock a range of species of treeferns which are priced individually, and we always recommend our customers visit the nursery to select their own. They suit a sheltered spot with partial shade, and enjoy an ericaeous soil.
-
Perennials
Leahurst Nurseries stocks an increasingly wide range of hardy plants including many herbaceous perennials, aromatic Mediterranean style dry loving plants, a wide variety of shade growing woodland plants, a variety of grasses, hardy bulbs, umbellifers, and quite a few of the just plain unusual. A wide range of wildlife friendly plants are included.
-
Pelargoniums
As many an enthusiast will happily tell you, pelargoniums are a bit of an addictive habit. Starting with a modest range of old favourites, including that unsurpassed classic, Pelargonium ‘Lord Bute’, Leahurst Nurseries has started to grow an increasing range of pelargoniums, especially the scented-leaved varieties.
-
Grasses
Grasses are an essential feature for any garden, providing year-round structure, height and texture. We stock them in a wide range of varieties and colours, making them versatile as a contrast to other plants or as ornamental features.
-
Ground Ferns
Ferns are an essential part of the shade garden, a source of winter interest and structure, and provide a richness and variety of forms which have fascinated gardeners ever since the fern-fever or ‘Pteridomania’ of the 19th century. Collecting ground ferns was always going to an irresistible accompaniment to the passion for tree ferns, so the nursery has a wide and eclectic stock of both hardy and tender ferns.
