Dicksonia squarrosa — commonly known as wheki, or rough tree fern — is one of New Zealand's hardiest and fastest-growing native tree ferns. It's prized for its striking upright, slender trunk and elegant crown of deep green fronds.
Tolerant of a wide range of conditions, including some full sun and drier spots once established, though it thrives best in a moist, shaded, sheltered position. A fantastic choice for adding an architectural, prehistoric feel to shadier corners of the garden.
